Who are the Renton Lions
Since
1917, local Lions Clubs have offered people just
like you the opportunity to give back to their
communities.
Today,
with over 1.4 million members in more than 190
countries, Lions have expanded their focus to help
meet the increasingly complex needs of society.
The
Renton Lions Club has served our community since
1938. Today, Renton Lions Club includes
enthusiastic, community–minded men and women of all
ages, meeting contemporary needs with ongoing
solutions in the city of Renton and beyond.
Renton
Lions have traditionally provided glasses, hearing
aids, clothing and food for the less fortunate among
us.
A
strong and vibrant presence
The Renton Lions Youth Camp is enjoyed all summer
long by the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Camp Fire and
YMCA, providing a wholesome outdoor environment for
local youth activities. The camp’s Cedar River
location helps youngsters learn about the
environment every day.
You’ll
remember our friendly faces from the concession
stand at Renton Memorial Stadium, offering
hospitality to athletes and fans for decades. Lions
also offer free health screenings semi–annually at
Renton River Days.
The
Renton Lions Club Pioneer Night hosts those who have
lived in Renton the longest, creating opportunity
for renewing relationships and rekindling memories.
It honors those who laid the foundation for Renton
to become the strong, vibrant community it is today…
our way of saying “Thank You.”
Renton Lions also support the Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight and Hearing (including the Northwest Lions Eye Bank), the Greater Eastside Lions Low Vision Clinic, Leader Dogs for the Blind, Lions Quest life skills educational programs, C.A.R.E., Lions Youth exchange program, the Lions Clubs International Foundation… and much, much more.
